Family Portraits
Family life moves fast. One minute your kids are climbing into your lap and the next they are suddenly taller that you. That's why I love what I do because photography gives us a chance to slow things down for a little while and capture this season of life exactly as it is. When you have a portrait session with me, the goal isn’t stiff poses or “say cheese” smiles. I like to keep things relaxed, playful, and natural so everyone can be themselves. I’ll guide you when needed, but most of the magic comes from the real moments like the laughter, the snuggles, the goofy faces, and the way your family naturally connects with each other.
I often joke that I run sessions on “kid time.” That means we follow their energy and keep things fun and flexible. When kids feel comfortable, that’s when the genuine smiles show up and the best moments happen. Sessions can take place in my studio in Duvall, at your home, or at a favorite park or outdoor location. Together we’ll plan a session that fits your family’s personality so the experience feels easy and enjoyable from start to finish. You can expect a sessions to take about an hour.
After your session, you’ll receive a gallery of your beautifully edited portraits where you can choose your favorites. From there, you can order digital images, prints, and framed artwork. And if you’re dreaming about something special for your walls or a custom album, I’m always happy to help design something perfect for your home.

What should we wear for family photos?
A.I recommend choosing outfits that feel comfortable and coordinate rather than match exactly. Soft colors, simple patterns, and layers photograph beautifully. I’m always happy to help with outfit ideas if you’d like a little guidance.
Our family feels a little chaotic… will we still get great photos?
A.Yes! Real families are wonderfully imperfect, and that’s exactly what makes photos meaningful. My job is to guide the session in a way that feels natural and relaxed so we can capture genuine connection, laughter, and the little moments that make your family unique.
What if my kids don’t cooperate?
A.Honestly, that’s completely normal and I expect it! Kids don’t have to be perfect during a session. I keep things relaxed and playful so they can move, laugh, and be themselves. Some of the best photos happen in those real, unscripted moments.
What happens if it rains on the day of my outdoor session?
A.We all know that the weather can be unpredictable, especially here in the Pacific Northwest. In the event of rain during your scheduled outdoor session, we have a few options. We can either relocate to an indoor area, such as my studio, or we can stay and play in the rain, or can reschedule for a different date that works for both of us.
It's always a good idea to have a backup plan and space in case of inclement weather, so you can feel confident that we'll still be able to capture beautiful photos regardless of what Mother Nature throws our way.

Can pets be part of the session?
A.Absolutely! Pets are family too. If you’d like to include them, just let me know when we’re planning your session so we can choose a location that works well.
How long does a typical photography session last?
A.Most of my sessions typically run between 1-2 hours, allowing us plenty of time to capture a range of images and create a comfortable, enjoyable experience. However, I also offer mini sessions throughout the year, which are shorter in duration, typically lasting between 30-45 minutes. These sessions are perfect for clients who want a quick, efficient shoot and a smaller selection of images. Whatever your needs may be, I'm happy to work with you to create a photography session that suits your unique vision and preferences.
How far in advance should we book a session?
A.I recommend booking a few weeks in advance so we can plan the perfect location, outfits, and timing. Popular seasons—like fall and spring—tend to fill up quickly.
How soon after our session will our portraits be avalible?
A.After your photography session, I will begin the editing process to ensure that your images are polished and stunning. While I may send you a few sample shots during the editing process, please note that I do not regularly post sneak peeks on social media.
My priority is to provide you with a personalized and professional experience that meets your specific needs and preferences. I believe that the final product should speak for itself and I'm committed to delivering high-quality images that capture your unique style and personality.
Your edited images will be available for viewing and download 2-3 weeks after your session. You'll receive a password-protected online gallery where you can view your images, share them with loved ones, and select your favorites for printing or digital download.
